Are you familiar with stereo types? Like, you know, boomboxes, home theater surround sound, Beats Pill, and so on? Lolz. That’s what my children call a “dad joke.” And I say this next thing with complete, refulgent certainty: the greatest compliment my children have ever given me was one night at dinner a few months ago when they said, “Our dad doesn’t make those jokes.” I was in tears at the time and am still riding high on it, and will be for the rest of my earthly life.

But seriously folks, I’m actually talking about stereotypes, which differ from stereo types primarily in the space between the lexical morphemes.1 But they also differ in what they are.
