Ascending to the “hill of the Lord”

The scripture for our study today is Psalms 24:3.

Psalms 24:3

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?

The theology of “mountains”

This verse, the two which follow—and really the whole psalm together—hold a natural interest for those familiar with an LDS viewpoint. From that viewpoint there’s an easy interpretation of the “hill” as the temple, which we “ascend” to; the temple is the “holy place” in which we can “stand.”
